Memorial Day Weekend

Many of us enjoy a three day weekend to celebrate Memorial Day.  Please take a moment and remember all the sacrifices our veterans, both past and present have given for us.

Our weekend hasn't been too eventful.  Saturday morning I did go to Alliance and watch my nephew Mitch play one of his baseball games.  His team took 2nd in the tournament.  Not bad!!  We had rain, mist and wind this weekend so not a lot went on outdoors for us.  I would have liked to get a fishing trip in but that didn't happen.  I am hoping maybe tonight we will get to go for a couple hours.

Kaitlin is practicing softball at 3pm today so I will take all three kids down to play in the park and get some energy ran off.  Kylah is learning how to pitch for softball so we will probably work on that some more today too.  Carter has his first t-ball game tomorrow night so he will want to practice too.  These kids keep me busy!!!!!   ;)

This week is going to be a busy one for us.  Carter has a game tomorrow night in Chadron.  Both girls have games here in town.  Wednesday night both girls play games in Gordon so we will be headed in that direction.  I love the games~  it gets me out of the house!

Off to Kait's practice.  Have a great day!

Summer is here!  We recently returned from the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming.  My niece Hannah graduated from high school.  My brother Jim, my mom, Josh, Carter, and I went up into the mountains to enjoy a morning.  We went to Shell Falls and saw a few moose on our drive.  Then Josh, Jim and Carter went sledding.  Carter loved it until he got up from the rolling stop he made and decided his fingers were freezing from the crisp snow.

Softball and t-ball season has begun in our town.  Carter has his first game next Tuesday in Chadron.  Kaitlin and Kylah have both played two games each.  Kylah's team is on their first year of pitching and not having the coaches pitch.  She enjoys her games and loves her coach.  She has been playing third base but it isn't a set position since the girls are still learning their places on the field.  Kaitlin's team is undefeated.  We hope they have a great season.  Those girls get out on that field and play very well together.  Most of these girls have been playing ball for 8 years together and it shows.  We are pleased with their performances and team work.  Kaitlin plays short-stop and towards outfield at times.  We love watching our kids play ball and it is my favorite thing to do in the early months of summer.

Josh and I are trying to get some golfing in when we can.  It is so peaceful on the course and very enjoyable.  We are hoping to get some fishing time in too when we can.  Hopefully sooner than later!

Hope you all are enjoying your summer and most schools should be out about now.  We were out May 16th so our fun started a little earlier than others.  Happy Friday!!

Happenings

I am back on the wagon to blogging.  Where has the past five months gone???

Life is good for us.  Of course, everyday life comes and goes and I don't know where the time has gone.  Kaitlin and Kylah are both in basketball.  They each have a game this Saturday.  One in Chadron, and one in Gordon.  Josh and I will try to be in two places at once if that is at all possible.  ;)

Carter is enjoying kindergarten and loves his teacher dearly.  Mrs. Ebmeier is at the top of his list.  He is learning to read and feels quite important on the words he has learned and shares them with anyone who walks through our door.

Josh is busy working and getting in some overtime when he can.  Sometimes I don't know how he works the hours he does and can still think clearly.  Well, to be honest, sometimes he doesn't.  Ha ha!

I started my own business called Jody's Endless Designs.  I have been to two craft shows and had success at both of them.  I make fabric banners that can be personalized for any occasion.  I have made a lot of Christmas ones and continue to make them as orders come in.  I enjoy it a lot.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Busy

Softball season is officially over.  Kylah's team got 2nd place in their tournament.  Kait's team didn't play in their tournament because they only had six players.  Sure hope more girls from our town play next year or we won't have a team.

Now our hectic month is about  to get here.  July is full of happenings in our family.   We of course have the 4th of July to celebrate.  My dad turns 70 on July 6th.  Then Fur Trade Days will be here.  We are having a surprise 70th party for my dad that weekend with our immediate family.  July 11th is Carter's 6th birthday.  My birthday is the 16th, Josh's the 20th and my nephew Phil's on the 30th.  Throw in combining season throughout those dates and our month will fly by.  (Even though I don't want it to.)  Then all the work, fun, and play in between those dates.  July is my favorite month of the year because we get to see family a lot more.

We are heading to Gillette tomorrow to meet our newest family member- Baby Thatcher.  He is one month old so we are hoping to love up on him and his siblings for a little bit on Saturday in between their busy day of rodeos, etc.  It will be nice to visit Zeb's family as well and get to see Alayna and Jack, our niece and nephew.  Every day I call Alayna to tell her it will be one less day for her cousins to see her.  :)

I better head out to get some more watering done on this yard before our 95 degree weather shows up.  Hope you are all having a great week!
